Argentina lessons

2 years in a same foreign country. What do they mean? A balanced sustainable life? Evolution, stagnation?

"You became way more feminine" - this is what my theatre professor told me at an evaluation lesson. So that's it for 2 entire years?

Patience
Argentina taught me to be more patient. To wait, accept, enjoy participation, even if i want(ed) to kill weird bus drivers, slow supermarkets staff, non educated waitresses and a long etcetera. Things don't work sometimes and noone knows when they work again. Sounds like a crappy unprofessional excuse. But when you can't change it, you have one simple dilemma: love it or leave it.

Friendships
I wanted to write a special post about them, but it could be squeezed here. Friendship is everything in Argentina. People get friends before they learn how to talk and walk. And these friends stay with them forever till they get unable to talk and walk.

As a life-long nomad (i changed radically my "sweet homes" and schools in most critical life periods: at the age of 6, 11, 21 with other smaller movements) i got used to change countries and people around as well and believed in the theory of "there are no friendships, but networks and business/emotional moment needs". Argentina has thrown that theory into the garbage and gave me incredible life time friends. It also made me get back to my old old Russian and Slovenian friends and re-build relationships in a proper way. And yes, i do adore the ones i have around and forever :)

Let it go
With lots of encounters and friendships Argentina put me through millions of people day by day. And it taught me to let those millions go and be with the ones who matter. Sounds clear, but imagine you meet amazing bunches of people every day and want to be with all of them. Or some of them. But these "some of them" probably don't want to be with you no matter what you do. So i learnt to let them go and say good byes knowing they would not leave to another country or even city. They would only leave your life and give space to the special ones. Or maybe to themselves in another moment when they grow and be ready. And then you learn another lesson - let it come and don't close the doors. Because these people need to learn from you as well.

Process and evolution
As a very ambitious person i used to put those magic 3 concrete goals and do everything to reach them soon. Up or out. Right here right now, faster better. Adelante! And solve all the issues with 1 great pill.

Argentina told me, that all results come from an intensive and sometimes long process of self-development, work and committment. There are no immediate results, no magic solutions. And even if it seems to be slow and stagnating, tranquila querida. The process is already on.

A second year in a messy passionate country made me quite patient, organized and maybe wise. I landed here with a lot of mess in my mind and passion in my nature, thinking it was a best place to express them and feel great. And ironically this country took those mess and passion out and led me to the person i am now.
