How would you feel on a stage of a real theatre in a foreign country as an... actress?
weird?
impossible?
random?
Unless you are a professional with years of good experiences, you would feel strange. Me too, when i start thinking and analyzing it. And when i switch off unnecessary logic, i feel simply comfortable and great doing what makes me excited - THE ARTS.
I guess, it was 1.5 years ago when i was sitting at the class of my precious teacher of Spanish Sandra, talking about life and willing to change something. My idea was to start doing yoga. Sandra, a very direct woman, looked at me and laughed ironically - What? Yoga? You? Are you kidding me? Go to the theatre, that's your place.
Ok, i said and contacted few schools to "a ver que onda" as they say it here. The first and best response came from Elkafka and since then i've never regretted about that spontaneous step in my life.
In 2011 we've been in our second year, working more seriously with texts and preparing 3 plays. Yesterday we showed them all to the public. As if we were real actors...
So what? A lot of people might do it as a hobby. Failing would not kill us. And come on, all my colleagues were there for fun and joy.
True and not true.
All this work of few months, all the resources, changes and people gave me very important life lessons:
-> it doesn't matter, if you do something for fun or work. As long as it involves people and time of your life, it becomes important and requires commitment. And commitment requires high level of professionalism.
-> being an actor is not just having talent and good memory. It's a hell lots of concentration, structure, emotional engineering and constant improvements.
-> each play is unique and special. and its quality completely depends on the team of actors and contribution of each and everyone. And besides the team, there is another key person - a director, whose involvement is very crucial.
I must say, that i am endlessly lucky to have such a brilliant professor as Maria Zambelli and adore her leadership style - very strict and human at the same time. I am lucky to have a brilliant group of students for the 2d year and obviously i will continue with them next year as well. And i am damn lucky to have friends, who support and encourage me all the time recognizing what i am doing.
...5 minutes before the start i drank a little bit of wine and hugged my team. And after the first seconds on the stage i felt completely fine and comfortable. It was my time, my place and my people. Yes, i enjoyed a lot. Every word and every move came out naturally and passionately. And i enjoyed them taking all the energy from people who watched me.
Moreover, i enjoyed the "afterparty" when i didn't remove my crazy make up and some of my friends took me to drive through the city, crash in the restaurant, continue playing funny improvised roles and chasing men, singing italian songs and taking pictures with Lyza Minelli (hopefully, i can add this picture too if i get it).
thank you thank you, les quiero mucho y mucho mas!!!
